South Australia: Port Wakefield

Posted on January 4, 2008September 16, 2019

Located just under 100km North of the Adelaide CBD is historic Port Wakefield.  One of the first settlements outside Adelaide.

Along the highway between Adelaide and Port Wakefield you’ll find a number of huge salt lakes which as the name would suggest are salt flats comprising of salt.  They often turn pink when they get wet from rain.

Port Wakefield itself is a small town located on the coast.
